Having heard lots about Jurassic Lougne at the Australian Museum from my friends last year, I was keen to check out for myself what kinda fun could be have in a museum after hours … and I was pleasantly surprised.

I was treated to some poetry readings in the Indigenous Gallery by Caravan Slam and a sneaky game or 2 of Connect 4; listed to an awesome VJ/DJ set by Tom Loud and a set by solo musician  Batterie  in the lecture theatre; shared a beer with Graeme and the dinosaurs and took a journey through the Yiwarra Kuju exhibition on tour from Western Australia.

I love museums already, so it was not a strech to get me through the door, but I think Jurassic Lounge is an awesome way to refresh the image of our old cultural institutions, provide space for artistic innovation and a great night out with friends!

Details:

Jurassic Lounge is on every Tuesday Night at the Australian Museum till April 3rd.

Check it out yo!

Props also to The Festivalists for being awesome and making the whole thing happen!
