Job :: The General

You are meticulous. You are organised.

Let’s not beat around the bush. Things are better when you’re around.

Everyone feels safer. They know they’re in good hands.

You are aware that big projects full of art, technologies, communities, businesses, funders and people of all ages and types can be headaches. But they’re also genuine, amazing experiences that make a real difference to people’s lives forever. They’re fulfilling. They’re innovative. They’re beautiful. And immensely, personally satisfying – if you run them well. Which you do.

You know that you’re a rare breed. Management is the science of people working together synergistically and you love it. You don’t mind giving orders – and people don’t mind taking them from you. You can co-ordinate a project, organise its comings and goings and lead a team of diverse people safely and surely through a sensitive, expressive experience. You can even convince them that evaluation is a good thing.

At CuriousWorks, you will initiate, maintain and evolve long-term partnerships with a diverse set of excellent organisations. You will co-ordinate, nationally, workshops, performances, screenings and other events and projects we’re yet to dream of. You’ll be in constant dialogue with lots of different people, all of them interested in how creativity, community, technology, education and innovation can come together in real, effective ways. You will work closely with the Director on the strategic development of the company.

If you work best when faced with a big challenge – we’re ready to help you kick ass.

You have experience that straddles at least a couple of these areas in the non-profit industry: business and partnership development, event management, general management, project co-ordination.

Annual salary is $65,000 (including salary sacrifice benefits for charities) plus 9% super. The job starts in January 2010. Salary will increase every year if the team does well.

Expressions of interest, including your CV, should be sent to job@curiousworks.com.au by 9 November 2009.
