We laid out a structure for the film and the kids filled the details and came up with major plot points (ie the Calculator at the end). The character of El Khaledo was more of a bit-part initially, but Khaled fleshed him out during the shoot and it became apparent he should narrate the film. We wrote some outlines for the voice-over, but much of it is Khaled improvising!
