A group of nerds are helped by the mysterious El Khaledo and form a plan to overthrow their bully oppressors!
As part of the Refill project, the kids from Miller Technology High School developed the idea for this film in theatre game workshops, filmed it using skills developed throughout the year, and learnt to edit it on Sony Vegas.
Attack of the Bullies had its’ premiere at the Liverpool PCYC and received a rousing reception. The critics all agree – this movie rocks.
just wondering if it was the kids who wrote the script. I love it
Initially, the kids came up with the ideas they wanted to address, then created their characters through theatre games.
We laid out a structure for the film and the kids filled the details and came up with major plot points (ie the Calculator at the end).
The character of El Khaledo was more of a bit-part initially, but Khaled fleshed him out during the shoot and it became apparent he should narrate the film. We wrote some outlines for the voice-over, but much of it is Khaled improvising!
