Underbelly Festival
This weekend CuriousWorks was part of the 2008 Underbelly Festival at CarriageWorks in Redfern.
We had an awesome time, building our tricycle, loading it with digital media gear and taking it around the lovely CarriageWorks space. People seemed to love graffiting with the IR Spray Can and some great illustrations went up. Aimee’s stop motion, 16-video work was gorgeous. The star of the show, however, was Hugo’s Kram, our loveable $2 duck that could mix and move visuals when people sang to it.
Our two presentations over the weekend were full of people, the first one actually packed out! It was great to spread the word on open-source, DIY technology to a new crowd.
If you want to make your own interactive technology with cheap components, check out our how-to video.
A big shout out to the Underbelly and Figure 8 teams for putting on such a big festival with scarce resources. Well done yo!
