Ngarda TV, Live in Roebourne!
One of the places we’ve been working at while in Roebourne is a place called Ngarda TV: a local, community TV and radio station, initiated by the Juluwarlu Group Aboriginal Corporation. The Juluwarlu Group represent the Yinjibarndi people of the Pilbara region and their main focus is recording the language and culture of the Yinjibarndi. Ngarda TV was established around 3 years ago and has recently been off air while they update their broadcast system and local studio. CuriousWorks have been helping out Maria, Glen and Lyle with some community engagement and also a couple of Final Cut Pro masterclasses.

We’ll be putting together some content for Ngarda TV over the next couple of weeks and hopefully will be leaving behind some production processes that can continue after we’ve returned to Sydney. We’ll post all of our Ngarda TV content to our website as well so stay tuned to see CuriousWorks tackle community TV.
