Redfern - SSYS Workshop 2

Another great workshop at South Sydney Youth Services. This time we met eight young local indigenous girls who got a real kick out of seeing what  had been made the previous week by their friends/family. All the girls got involved operating the camera and performing in their own videos.

Two more “clone” videos were created, one involving an extremely amusing standoff where seven of the girls yelled abuse at their clones. This was later edited by Lizzie who was introduced to digital video editing for the first time and did a great job with a tricky effect!

Another young girl, Sharnay, managed to shoot, edit, add audio, export and upload her video to Bebo all in the one session! In her video she uses the illusion of reversed footage to give herself telekinetic powers and make her crumping dance look hyper-real. So cool!
