Liverpool - Refill Workshop 2

Friday was our second All Around You workshop at Miller Technology. A smaller group this week and we were also missing our Year 11 student (due to exams) but on the whole it was an excellent workshop which produced some great media.

Once again we started out with some theatre games, and also a playful demonstration of our potential “Backpack DDR”.

Our second half began our “media skills” training exercises. Shakthi and I led two seperate groups to let the kids play with video/stills cameras and a sound recording device, each medium with their own exercise:

- Learning how to take interesting photos and engaging with subject and environment

- Considering the practicalities of filming video while making a fun video about a ball being passed around different spaces

- Developing storytelling and audio recording techniques with a “line at a time” game.
In tomorrow’s workshop we’ll be presenting all the work the kids did on Friday and I think they’ll be surprised at the quality of the results!
